The temperature on the set of Sex And The City rose a notch this week as Mikhail Baryshnikov shared a steamy on-screen kiss with the show's star, Sarah Jessica Parker.
Latvia-born Mikhail recently joined the cast as the new romantic interest of Sarah's character, Carrie Bradshaw. And script writers wasted no time in getting the two together, with the night-time smooch being filmed just days after he arrived on set.
Sarah, who recently gave birth to a baby boy with hubby Matthew Broderick, hand-picked the handsome dancer to play the coveted role of "Ultimate Boyfriend" Alexander Petrovsky – competition for the man who seems to be Carrie's Mr Right, Mr Big.
"When I understood the general description of the part, it was very hard to find anybody that could bring that sort of myth and legend," she said of the casting. "And while there are enormous movie stars who are extraordinary and obviously thrilling to watch on screen, people don't necessarily just fit the bill because of their name recognition.
"Mikhail is extraordinary, and this character is not like anyone we've ever had on the show before."
