In the film Tomb RaiderAngelina Jolie plays a daredevil archaeologist who travels the world in search of precious relics. And it seemed like a case of life imitating art in Munich on Wednesday, as the actress finally got her hands on a special memento that has been eluding her for months.
Because when Angelina arrived in Germany to present her new Lara Croft film The Cradle Of Life, she was presented with the "World Video Award 2003", which she was supposed to collect in January. Unfortunately snowstorms made it impossible for her to travel to the prizegiving at the time, so she has had to wait until now to pick up the gong.
The Oscar-winning actress has been jetting around the world to promote the film, but she says that was one of the attractions of playing Lara Croft. "I knew that the series would be about travelling, and I would get to experience other cultures all around the world," she says.
It looks set to be a good year for Angelina, as she has also signed up to star opposite Colin Farrell and Anthony Hopkins in a biopic of Alexander The Great. She will play Olympias, the legendary Macedonian conqueror's mother, in the Oliver Stone-directed flick.
