With both a BAFTA gong and Calvin Klein fragrance contract under her belt, Lost In Translation star Scarlett Johansson is on a sizzling streak. And hellomagazine.com readers apparently believe there's no chance of the 19-year-old cooling down anytime soon, voting her the hottest new property of the year.

Asked who the breakthrough star for 2004 will be, our readers chose Scarlett over five other rising female talents. The Girl With A Pearl Earring beauty scooped almost half the nearly 12,000 votes counted.

Other young actresses included in the poll were Blue Crush's Kate Bosworth, Bend It Like Beckham's Parminder Nagra, 19-year-old Stuck On You siren Eva Mendes, Big Fish cutie Alison Lohman, 24, and 21-year-old British newcomer Sienna Miller, soon to be seen alongside boyfriend Jude Law in the remake of Alfie.

Scarlett easily pipped 21-year-old runner-up Kate Bosworth, actor Orlando Bloom's current flame, to the post. Coming in at third place was Parminder Nagra, 28, who is busy making a stateside splash in the long-running hospital drama ER.

The final rankings in the poll were:

1. Scarlett Johansson - 46.5%

2. Kate Bosworth - 22.9%

3. Parminder Nagra - 14.9%

4. Eva Mendes - 7.9%

5. Alison Lohman - 5.3%

6. Sienna Miller - 2.6%
