George's trouble with the girls

Suave, debonair and infinitely desirable, George Clooney seems to have the fairer sex endlessly falling at his feet. The list of Tinseltown beauties linked to the handsome actor includes Lucy Liu, Teri Hatcher and Renee Zellweger, who recently joined him for champagne-fuelled celebrations after the Baftas.

Even when the romance is over - as with British TV presenter Lisa Snowdon - the Oscar winner manages to remain on the best of terms with his lady friends.

So the news that Hollywood's most sought-after bachelor does have the occasional spot of girl trouble will certainly come as a surprise.

But the woman problem is all part of a role for his latest screen production, in which George finds himself in hot water after a misunderstanding with two attractive young ladies in a coffee shop.

Set to hit cinema and TV screens in May, the 50-second short film, The Boutique is an advert for the deluxe Nespresso coffee machine. Artistically shot in black and white, like his directorial effort Good Night, And Good Luck, the humorous ad is bound to find favour with his devotees.

And the light-hearted mood running through the TV spot may owe something to the fact that it was shot on the day the Oscar nominations were revealed and George learnt he was in the running for three of the coveted awards.
