Daniel Radcliffe rose to fame in 2000 when he was annnounced as the 11-year-old actor who would t ake on the role of the boy wizard, Harry Potter, in the film adaption of the best-selling books by JK Rowling . "This is what I want. This is Harry Potter," director of the first film Chris Columbus said of Daniel, and filming was moved to the UK rather than Los Angeles in order to accomodate Daniel's parents wishes. The films would change Daniel's life, and despite only signing on for the first two he would go on to star in all eight films based on the seven books by JK Rowling. TEARS AND HUGS AS THE HARRY POTTER CAST SAY GOODBYESpeaking of the series, Daniel has said he is "proud to be associated with this film series forever", knowing that it is possible he may never escape the name Harry Potter. However In the years since the last film was released to international acclaim, Daniel has been successful in making a name for himself outside of the franchise.During a break from filming the final boy wizard movies Daniel took on a role in the controversial stage play Equus, in which he appeared in a nude scene. The play tranferred to Broadway where the star was nominated for a Drama Desk Award, and he later chose to appear in light-hearted musical How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying, which also garnered acclaim. DANIEL RADCLIFFE UNLIKELY TO SIGN UP FOR FURTHER HARRY POTTER FILMSHe has also portrayed Beat poet Allen Ginsberg in indie film Kill Your Darlings, and appeared in horror flick  The Woman In Black. In 2010 the 25-year-old revealed he suffered from an addiction to alcohol and had since stopped drinking.On the set of Kill Your Darlings, Daniel met his girlfriend,Erin Darke.
