Cheryl Fernandez-Versini will reportedly appear on the X Factor this weekend, despite battling a throat infection this week. The pop princess, who recently celebrated her new single I Don't Care reaching the number one spot in the charts, is said to be keen to appear on the show even though she has been "so sick" for the past few days.Earlier in the week Cheryl had tweeted that although she was ill she hoped to recover in time for the weekend.

Cheryl tweeted that she had been feeling unwell

"Sorry for my absence on here the past few days," she wrote on Thursday. "I have been so sick. Trying to be better for Sat."

According to MailOnline Cheryl is "suffering from the highly contagious strep throat – a bacterial infection that attacks the tonsils and larynx."

This week's  X Factor shows will see two hopefuls leave the competition.

Seven acts will become five, with the one with the least viewers' votes leaving on the Saturday show, followed by another after a sing-off on Sunday.

Stevi Ritchie, who survived last weekend's sing-off against Jay James, has said he believes his time is up on the ITV talent show.

"Whether it's Saturday or Sunday, I'll be one of the ones that goes this weekend," he told RadioTimes.com.
