. The actor, whose five-decade career spanned TV, film and theatre,

passed away on Christmas Day

led the tributes to David on Twitter, writing: "The great David Ryall left us on Christmas Day. A twinkling, brilliant, wonderful actor I was privileged to call a friend. RIP."
