After Tom melted hearts playing Jonathan Pine in The Night Manager, fans became passionate to see the dashing actor as Bond. Tom has admitted that the attention has been "overwhelming", saying: "It's odd because it's becoming overwhelming – not the thing of it, but the number of people who bring it up, it's actually becoming a weird thing to deal with."

According to Ladbrokes the star has the best chance at being offered the part, with 2/5 odds that Tom will be filling Daniel Craig's shoes.

Ever since it was rumoured that Daniel Craig would be stepping down from the role, the Golden Globe award nominee has had a huge amount of supporters who want to see him play 007. Idris sounds like he'd love the role should it be offered, telling The Huffington Post: "I say it all the time, but if it was to ever happen and if I was ever to get offered that role, that would be the will of a nation."

Olivia Colman

There has been strong support for the actress to take over the role and become the first female Bond. As Tom Hiddleston's co-star in The Night Manager, many viewers wanted to forget all about Tom taking over from 007 and have Olivia take the role instead. One Twitter user wrote: "My entire feed is calling with one voice for Olivia Colman to be the next James Bond", while another wrote: "Never mind Hiddles - Olivia Colman should be the new James Bond!"

Many fans think that Michael would be the perfect replacement to play Bond, citing his role in Inglorious Bastards, where he plays a calm and collected British spy, as the perfect audition to play the iconic hero. People are so passionate about Michael becoming 007 that they have even photoshopped him in posters.
