You'd better grab the tissues, because Friday's episodes of Coronation Street are set to be huge tearjerkers. Viewers will see Kylie Platt take her last breath and, as these spoiler pictures show, it's going to be heart-breaking for husband David.

Jack Shepherd, who plays David, has admitted the scenes were so emotional to film that his tears were totally real.

Kylie Platt will take her last breath in David's arms - but how does the tragedy happen?

He said: "When the cameras stopped rolling I couldn't stop crying, the tears were very real. The script is superb, every word, every moment of the scene was exactly right. They are the most moving scenes I have ever had to film. In rehearsal I just had to speak the lines and not look at anyone as I didn't want to let my emotions take over too soon."

Details of exactly how Kylie dies have been kept strictly under wraps but, if the pictures are anything to go by, it's a complete shock for both her and David.

Paula Lane, the actress behind Kylie, recently teased details of the plot, and suggested it will be unlike anything viewers have ever seen.

Jack Shepherd revealed that Kylie's death will send David into a downward spiral

She said: "I'm not just saying this because I am involved, but I don't think I've ever read an ending like it. The audience are going to get a real sense of shock and surprise – how a sudden death is. They're going to feel those emotions."

And Kylie's death is going to send to David spiralling out of control, Jack revealed. He added: "David has to try and keep it together for the sake of the children but he wants to blame someone for what has happened. He is angry at the world, he and Kylie were so close to having the perfect life and now he is a single dad and a widower."

The emotional episodes air Friday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
