Thursday's episode of This Morning saw presenters Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle, and regular contributors Nick Ferrari and Tom Swarbrick, discuss the news that Prince Harry will attend his father King Charles' Coronation without his wife Meghan Markle and their two children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The TV presenters were discussing the update shared by Buckingham Palace during their usual Morning View segment when LBC host Nick shared his candid thoughts about the move from Harry, admitting the thought it was "sad" that Meghan will miss out. Nick also discussed the "sad" element of Meghan and the kids missing out and his thoughts about King Charles and Prince Harry's relationship as father and son.

"In all the toxicity there is in this situation, one thing that has come through to me is that there is a genuine human love between father and son," he said. "It's not an olive branch but it's a twig with quite a few leaves on it."

The news that the Duke of Sussex will attend the coronation taking place next month was confirmed by Buckingham Palace on Wednesday. "Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that the Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on 6th May," read the statement.

Archewell, Harry and Meghan's charitable foundation, issued a near identical statement to the Palace confirming the duke will join guests at the coronation. The coronation, which will take place at Westminster Abbey on 6 May, also falls on Archie's fourth birthday.

The confirmation comes after months of speculation about the Sussexes's attendance particularly following the release of their Netflix documentary, Harry & Meghan, and the Prince's subsequent memoir, Spare, in which he detailed his relationship with his father, brother Prince William and more.
