The new eight-part series, titled Cape Rock Killer, sees Sam Neill reprise his role as renowned defence barrister Brett Colby SC as he takes on a deeply personal, high-stakes murder case.

What is Cape Rock Killer about?
Season three, which first premiered in Australia in August 2025, sees Colby thrust into a case involving an old friend, who has been accused of murder.
The official synopsis reads: "The Twelve: Cape Rock Killer is unlike any other as things get personal for Brett Colby (Sam Neill) after he is thrust into a murder trial to defend the husband of a lifelong friend accused of a heinous murder.

While the show has received mixed reviews, with season one receiving two stars from The Guardian and three from The Standard, viewers have hailed it as "brilliant" and "fantastic".
Following the release of season two, fans flooded social media with praise. "Just finished both series of #TheTwelve... Brilliant," wrote one viewer, while another admitted they were so hooked they couldn't stop binging it.

Sam Neill (Jurassic Park) leads the cast as Brett Colby SC.
He's joined by Danielle Cormack (The Last Anniversary) as Gabe Nicholls, Eryn Jean Norvill (Home and Away) as Amanda Taylor, Sarah Peirse (The Letdown) as Beth Chaplin, William Zappa (The Dry) as Alan Chaplin and Ewen Leslie (Pieces of Her) as Andrew Retsis.
Rounding out the cast are Phoenix Raei, Nathalie Morris, Bessie Holland and Paul Tassone.
