We can't wait for Strictly to return in the autumn, with the show promising plenty of big changes following the departure of Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.

The line-up has steadily been confirmed over the past few days, and on Friday, the BBC announced that singer Delta Goodrem would be joining the star-studded line-up.

Delta is an Australian popstar, who burst onto the scene in 1993. The star has nine number-one singles and 17 top-ten hits on the ARIA Singles Chart, and has sold an incredible eight million albums. She is also known for acting as a coach on The Voice Australia, and recently represented the country in the Eurovision Song Contest, finishing in fourth place.

On joining the show, Delta said: "I've been incredibly honoured to perform on many different stages throughout my career - from tv, theatre, film sets, to touring my own shows around the world, there is however one stage I’ve never stepped onto and that is the ballroom floor! I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining Strictly and can’t wait to get started!"

She join EastEnders icon Lacey Turner and returning contestant Dani Dyer in the line-up. It was announced on 10 June that soap star Lacey was the first contestant, with Dani, who had to pull out of the last series after sustaining an ankle injury, being confirmed a day later.

One fan joked: "First Eurovision now Strictly - do they want the 40+ gays to spontaneously combust?" while a second added: "You're gonna Eclipse all the other contestants darling!" Even the official Eurovision account got in on the fun as it teased: "Need to upgrade those score paddles to 12s!"

Changes to Strictly

Strictly is set to be incredibly different when it returns in September. Although fans are used to seeing a whole new crop of celebrities and pro dancers, this year, they're also faced with brand-new hosts after Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman departed following last year's final.

Back in May, the BBC announced that Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe, and pro dancer Johannes Radebe would be serving as their replacements. The news was confirmed on Strictly's Instagram with a video featuring Emma being joined by Johannes, with Josh joining the pair afterwards. The account teased: "It's official...September 2026."

Fans can also expect several fresh new pros for the upcoming series, although the BBC hasn't yet confirmed who the new professionals are. They come following the departure of Karen Hauer, Nadiya Bychkova, Luba Mushtuk, Michelle Tsiakkas, Gorka Marquez and Johannes.

Just days before Lacey's confirmation as the first Strictly star, it was confirmed that Janette Manrara would be leaving the show after 14 years as a dancer and presenter of sister show, It Takes Two.
