The glamorous Oscar attendees showed off a stunning array of different hair and make-up looks as they hit the red carpet in Los Angeles.Among a sea of nude lips, Emma Watson and Naomi Watts went for a daring scarlet hue. The shade added a pop of colour to Naomi's white Calvin Klein ensemble, while Emma's edgy lip colour lightened up her black Vera Wang gown.

Lupita Nyong'o also opted for colour, with a splash of fuschia pink complementing her baby blue Prada dress.

We saw lots of the red carpet go-to hairstyle — old Hollywood glamour side-swept curls, as seen on Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett and Kate Hudson. But other actresses to take a risk with their 'dos include Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams.

Jennifer had quiffed her short pixie crop to match her sleek Dior gown.

Margot Robbie surprised fans when she stepped out showing off newly-dyed brunette locks. The Wolf of Wall Street star showed off her new look earlier in the day on Twitter, when she posted a photograph of herself getting ready. "Never thought I'd say this.. I'm getting ready for the #oscars!!!!!" she captioned the snap of herself being pampered and preened.

Angelina Jolie chose a pared-down hairstyle — she kept her locks straight to let her dazzling Elie Saab gown take centre stage.

Amy, meanwhile, had created an elegant updo. Speaking about the style, Amy admitted that she had to tie it up "because of the rain"."I have a lot of hair and it's quite humid out here!" she said.
