Dior have launched DiorSkin Star, the first ever foundation specifically engineered to help women look good in photos and cater to the 'selfie generation'.

Natalie Portman stars in the new campaign accompanying the launch – the Black Swan actress has a close relationship with the French brand, also featuring in their Miss Dior adverts.

For the DiorSkin Star images, Natalie looks stunning in a white feathered top, with her hair slicked back to show off her flawless, luminous skin. The foundation, which was seen on models during the Dior haute couture show in Paris earlier this year, uses 'light pulsion' technology to break up harsh lighting making the face instantly more photogenic. "Our objective was to make the face an ideal light source," explained Edouard Mauvais-Jarvis, scientific communications director at Dior. "Emitting the largest amount of the purest light to be luminous."

When carrying out research, it was discovered that two-thirds of women dislike photos of themselves online, with 42 per cent of women admitting that they looked to their foundation to give them confidence when being photographed. Available in 16 made-to-measure shades, DiorSkin Star captures natural light on the face to enhance the eyes and cheekbones, while reducing the appearance of wrinkles and dull skin. This innovative make-up already counts celebrities such as Audrey Tautou and Sarah Hyland as big fans, who both chose the foundation for red carpet events.
