The Princess of Wales is an undeniable beauty muse. From the natural freshness that her skin exudes (something that’s been evident since she captured the world’s attention as a baby-faced student at the University of St Andrews) to the soft, glowy glam that she sports as a senior royal, the future Queen delivers serious skin-spiration every time she steps outside.
- Princess Kate reportedly loves rosehip oil for its natural ability to diminish fine lines
- The botanical has been given an upgrade in British beauty brand Kloris' Calm & Glow Face Oil
- Midlife women are praising how it leaves their faces “feeling soft and youthful”
Her number one skincare secret? Skipping aggressive ingredients in favour of natural ones – specifically rosehip oil. The mum-of-three reportedly discovered this non-greasy, vitamin-rich botanical while avoiding harsh chemicals during her pregnancy with Princess Charlotte in 2015.
Princess Kate is said to have fallen in love with rosehip oil’s ability to naturally plump the skin and diminish fine lines. And now, organic British beauty brand Kloris has attempted to bottle her signature royal glow in its Calm & Glow Face Oil, a formula that harnesses the power of rosehip oil with a delicious upgrade.
Midlife women are raving about the oil, praising how it leaves their faces “feeling soft and youthful”. One reviewed: “Gorgeously light, easily absorbed and delicately fragrance. It's a beautiful face oil that allows my skin to breathe. Love it!”
Another beamed: “I’m enjoying using the oil, which I do each morning. It absorbs really well and leaves my skin looking glowy. I’m in my Seventies so there’s a limit to improvements, but I’m happy with the product.”
The 100% natural blend is non-comedogenic and formulated for all skin types – including oily and combination. It absorbs in seconds with zero heavy residue, making it the perfect weightless base under makeup or simply on its own for a subtle glow.
The 5 ingredients in Kloris’ Calm & Glow Face Oil
- Rosehip seed oil: Rich in fatty acids; targets hyperpigmentation, dark spots, dehydration and uneven texture;
- Squalane: Mirrors skin’s natural sebum to lock in moisture and softens the face without heaviness;
- Cucumber seed oil: Lightweight, nourishing and packed with phytosterols and fatty acids to soothe cells;
- Vanilla fruit fxtract (CO₂): Provides antioxidant support and a subtly sweet scent;
- Tocopherol (vitamin E): An antioxidant that prevents formula oxidation and conditions the skin.
My review of Kloris’ Calm & Glow Face Oil
As someone with combination skin that tends to get oilier at this time of year, I’ve always approached face oils with a degree of scepticism. But Kloris’ Calm & Glow Face Oil may have completely changed my mind.
Rosehip oil has long been celebrated for its ability to promote radiant, healthy skin, which perhaps explains why it’s reportedly a staple in Princess Kate’s skincare routine. And if it’s capable of delivering me even a hint of that famously polished complexion, I’m more than willing to lean in.
What I love most about it is the texture. I apply the oil to my bare skin each morning, allowing it to settle for an hour before layering on the rest of my skincare.
Rather than sitting heavily on the surface, it melts in almost instantly, leaving behind a soft, velvety finish instead of unwanted greasiness. The addition of squalane gives the formula a cushioned feel.
After a few weeks of consistent use, my complexion looks fresher and feels noticeably more hydrated, with the pesky fine lines around my eyes looking very much softened.
