Michelle Keegan has debuted a dramatic makeover just in time for autumn. The 29-year-old revealed in her HELLO! Online blog that she has chopped four inches off her glossy brunette hair for a sleek new shoulder-length finish.
The Our Girl star looked every inch a beauty icon with the new 'do, which sees her opting for a blunt finish for an edgy look.
Michelle Keegan showed off her new hairstyle in her HELLO! Online blog
"So after bleaching my hair for my last role and despite using many, many treatments, the ends of my mane just had to go. Well, not just my ends. It was about 4 inches of hair to be honest," Michelle wrote."My hair itself is in good condition overall, it was the ends and there's nothing you can do about that so I thought what the hell! Let's go for a 'lob'".
She continued: "My hair also had a vegetable dye through it again, to make the colour richer. I also had some darker lowlights throughout so that it isn't one block of colour."
While past years have seen Michelle rarely straying from her signature long brown hair, this marks the second time in recent months that she has opted to make a major change to her look.
The actress went blonde over the summer for a TV role
Earlier this summer the actress caused a social media storm when she revealed she had dyed her hair an eye-catching platinum blonde shade, debuting the look on Instagram with a striking selfie. "No filter just sunlight… #theotherside," she simply captioned the photo, which saw her sweeping her locks into a dramatic side parting.
The star's makeover wasn't done on a whim – in fact, she later admitted that it was for her role in drama Tina & Bobby, in which she plays Bobby Moore's wife. Hair colourist Vernon Deysel, the man who helped her achieve the look, revealed that it took two days to dye Michelle's chocolate brown locks into the platinum blonde hues – and Michelle's husband Mark Wright was a fan of the transformation.
"She was just amazing, lovely and I think what happened is when her husband came in at the end of day one and he loved it, I think that automatically made it easier for her too," he told HELLO! Online exclusively. "She loved it from when we started with was great."
