Candice Swanepoel wowed on the Victoria's Secret catwalk

"There's no better feeling than when you're strong, fit and capable," she told InStyle. "I like doing activities that I enjoy so that it doesn't get tedious. "I do a mixture of yoga, pilates and boxing: boxing when I have energy to burn and pilates on the reformer when I'm feeling lazy."

She added: "The day before a big job I'll do resistance training to tighten everything up."

The Victoria's Secret angel revealed that there is one particular exercise she currently turns to in order to tone her enviable physique.

"I'm really into yoga at the moment as it's all about balance between the mental and physical being," she revealed. "It's hard to meditate in New York City, which is why I like to travel to remote places when I'm surrounded by nature. I believe thinking and travelling also keeps me fit."

The South African beauty also shared her top tips for getting abs and maintaining them, confessing that she believes "laughing a lot" is important in keeping you fit and healthy.

"Boxing, pilates and laughing a lot! Everything that involves core exercises," she said. "The secret to staying in shape is just getting yourself to the gym. That’s the hardest part for me, it's about putting the time in and for me it helps to have a trainer to push my limits.

While Candice regularly shares sneak peeks at her fitness routine with her 6.7 million Instagram followers, she admitted that there's one exercise she tries to avoid as much as she can.

When asked what exercise she dreads the most, she replied: "Excessive running!"
