Lady Gaga has penned an inspiring response to body shamers who criticised her figure after her Super Bowl performance on Sunday. The Joanne singer said she was "proud" of her body, which she showed off in a white crop top and hot pants during her impressive 12-minute performance at the NRG Stadium.
Posting a photo from her performance on Instagram, Lady Gaga wrote: "I heard my body is a topic of conversation so I wanted to say, I'm proud of my body and you should be proud of yours too. No matter who you are or what you do. I could give you a million reasons why you don't need to cater to anyone or anything to succeed. Be you, and be relentlessly you. That's the stuff of champions. Thank you so much everyone for supporting me. I love you guys. Xoxo, gaga."

Her post was met with comments of praise and support from fans, many of whom were shocked that she had received criticism for her toned physique. "I can't believe you're even having to justify yourself or even comment on this, your body is amazing?!" one commented. Another added: "You looked incredible, and on top of that, I admire how talented, dedicated and passionate you are. Thank you for teaching people everywhere not to pay attention to negative comments."
The 30-year-old had undergone an intense training routine ahead of her performance, which she detailed in a pre-game interview with Good Morning America. "Well I work out a lot and I do VersaClimbing while I sing," she said. "I'm singing the show while I'm doing it. Because the show is full-on cardio… it's cardio while singing."
The singer did a last minute workout before her performance
Gaga even did some last minute exercises with her trainer Harley Pasternak before taking to the stage in her sparkly Versace bodysuit. "How amazing was our long time client @ladygaga at the #superbowl today?? Checkout her pregame warm up with @trxtraining straps!! She's proof that you always have time to workout," Harley captioned a photo of her behind-the-scenes workout.
