Naomi Campbell: 'I want to have a baby — whether I have a man or not'

Naomi Campbell wants to have a baby — and she is happy to do it on her own. The 43-year-old supermodel revealed this week that she would love to start a family, regardless of whether or not she has a man.

Speaking to Diane Von Furstenburg during a SiriusXM Radio Town Hall show, Naomi said, "I'm at an age where I've decided I do want to have a baby.

"I do want to have a baby, whether I'm with a man or not. I will have it on my own."

Naomi has been single since her split from long-term boyfriend Vladislav Doronin last year.

It is not the first time the London-born beauty has discussed starting a family. In 2008, she revealed she had been infertile until she had a corrective operation to remove a cyst.

Speaking at the time she said, "I was not able to have children up until March. Now it's in God's hands. I would love to have a family."

During Tuesday's chat with Diane, Naomi also discussed the issue of anorexia in the modeling industry.

"You cannot blame our industry for the body type of women," she told the fashion designer. "The food issue is a really sensitive subject for me, and it makes me nervous to really talk about it because I've never seen a designer in my whole 28 years say to someone, 'Go on a diet, lose weight.'

"You have to be responsible for your only actions," she continued. "So if you decide you don't want to eat because you feel like you have to be like this, that's all up to you."
