Mick Jagger is going to be a dad again! The 72-year-old Rolling Stone is expecting his eighth child, his representative has confirmed. The new addition will be Mick's first baby with his 29-year-old ballerina girlfriend Melanie Hamrick.

"This is great news. It will be Mick's eighth child and nothing fazes him," a source told the Sun. "He's been incredibly supportive.

"She is very bright, intelligent, sparky and has her own ideas about how she wants to lead her life. She knows what a great relationship Mick has with all of his children and can't wait for him to be a dad again. They are taking the news in their stride."

Sir Mick is already a father to Karis Hunt Jagger, 45, from his relationship with Marsha Hunt and Jade Jagger, 44, with his ex-wife Bianca. The rock star had four children with his ex-partner Jerry Hall – Elizabeth, 32, James, 30, Georgia, 24, and 19-year-old Gabriel.

He also has a son Lucas, 17, following a brief romance with Luciana Gimenez; their liaison ended Mick's 22-year relationship with Jerry, who is now married to Rupert Murdoch.

From 2001 until 2014, Mick was in a long-term partnership with fashion designer L'Wren Scott, although the pair did not have any children together.  L'Wren tragically took her own life in March 2014.

Mick isn't the only Rolling Stone experiencing fatherhood again later in life. In May, Ronnie Wood became a father again at 68 when his wife Sally gave birth to twin girls, Gracie Jane and Alice Rose.

A short while later, the couple proudly introduced their daughters to the world in an exclusive with HELLO! magazine, and Ronnie revealed he was fully embracing his parental responsibilities.

"I'm the burper, walker, nappy changer and I'm still trying to work out when I can get to sleep in between all that," he said. "I have played the guitar to them and when I get round to it I will do some drawings. At the moment I'm just soaking up every moment we have. I have Sally, I have my beautiful family and I have two little gorgeous dolly girls. All I can think is that someone up there really likes me."
