Gigi Hadid’s new business venture could not have come at a more perfect time. Her clothing brand Guest In Residence only sells 100% cashmere products – ideal for this time of year. Last night she styled two pieces of her cashmere clobber, and it could be the answer to all of our prayers. The street-style superstar has elevated her cosy look, and we are here for it. All-hail the knitted leggings and heeled boots combo. Could this be the start of this winter’s newest trend?
Those checking out the Guest In Residence pop up store in New York City last night were in for a treat, as Gigi made a surprise appearance donning the ‘Speed Skate’ knitted hoodie and leggings set from her brand. It was almost inevitable she’d wear the brand to her own shop – what convinces consumers to buy better than a real-life fitting?
Wearing the 'Speed Skate' set from Guest In Residence
She sported her cashmere co-ord in the ‘steel/cream’ colourway, paired with a long-length black leather jacket and a Tommy Hilfiger handbag for a pop of colour. Her hair in super slick bun and soft make-up gave a mega ‘clean girl’ aesthetic.
The star appendage of this look, was her square toe heeled boots, that brought a new level to the meaning of elevation. These black sock boots with cream stitching detailing slotted over her leggings like a glove, accentuating the length of her tall frame whilst wearing the ultimate comfortable legwear.
Her whole look was ‘guest appearance’ worthy, and the cashmere attire means there was no need for Gigi to go home and change into her ‘comfy clothes’... genius.
The perfect elevated cosy look
Knitted co-ords were high on our sartorial agenda during the pandemic, when the line between outdoor-wear and indoor-wear was a blur because outerwear needed to be less ‘outy’.
And though we embraced a return to normality by preening for any occasion possible, we urge you to follow in Gigi’s footsteps for the perfect cosy but chic middle-ground.
