Lady Amelia Windsor was amongst the front row guests at Bora Aksu’s AW23 London Fashion Week show on February 17.

The slow fashion muse is arguably the most sartorially sustainable member of the Royal family, so it was only right that she made an appearance at an eco-conscious designer’s show.

She donned an incredible look that said ‘Victorian romance meets 2023 cool-girl’. She captured attention in a whimsical midi gown comprising  a layered skirt of various pink hues, lace trimmings, ruffled shoulders, red velvet panelling and light chiffon balloon sleeves that complimented the busyness of the dress.

Bora Aksu’s show was all about contrasts. Based on two ‘outsiders’ – troubled artist Edvard Munich and the formidable Wednesday Addams – the collection juxtaposes “forboding tones and rough detailing with the femininity and demi-couture craftsmanship that has become Aksu’s staple”.

Amelia channelled just that with her choice of footwear. Though she is the current reigning queen of the ballet flats (she’s just launched a sustainable collection with Pretty Ballerinas), she eschewed shoes that fitted the whimsical style of dress, and opted for the ultimate Miu Miu chunky loafers and bronze socks.

Her choice of handbag was a playful satin bag in the shape of a cottage. The sultry mauve colourway paired perfectly with her dress.

Again channelling the juxtaposition we’ve seen a lot already this week, Amelia opted for a longline green padded coat as her outwear. The great thing about her look is that with her coat fastened, she could easily go and meet a friend for coffee. Genius.

She wore her signature bronde tresses loose and wavy in an ever-elegant middle parting.

Demi-couture show or coffee run?

In case you were on the hunt for some chic ballet flats and don’t want to purchase a pair from Miu Miu like the rest of the fashion set, Amelia’s collection with Pretty Ballerinas dropped yesterday, and a donation of sales from each purchase go to War Child UK.
