It’s fair to say that Lily James’ red carpet agenda is a force to be reckoned with. At the BAFTA awards on February 19 she oozed elegance in a look crafted by her unfailing stylist Rebecca Corbin Murray.

The Pam & Tommy actress dazzled in a white gown from Tamara Ralph’s first haute couture collection. The satin dress featured a pearl embellished ‘spider web’ plunge neckline, which she paired with dazzling Bulgari diamonds.

Lily's first hair look was sleek, matching her elegant gown

Always completing her elegant ensembles is her formidable glam squad, including trusty hairstylist Halley Brisker who also works with the likes of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Sydney Sweeney and Laura Haddock, and was the genius behind her captivating bow updo from the Fashion Awards 2022 that is perfect for any party.

He created both her red carpet and afterparty looks for the BAFTAs. Halley took her from red carpet sleek to the ultimate tousled disco-inspired look, to pair with her 16 Arlington SS23 bejewelled ‘Luna’ Sequin gown and powdery blue ‘Circe’ feather jacket.

He gave us a step by step guide to recreating Lily’s super easy party look.

“Lily’s look was inspired by the theme of French 70’s disco and based on the idea of lived-in textures” he told Hello! Fashion. “Adding texture to hair makes it more fun to play with and this style is easy to create at home without much fuss.”

“Final shapes are all about pleasing silhouettes and having fun playing around with the style. The techniques do not require particular experience or skill.”

How to get Lily James’ BAFTA Awards 2023 hairstyle:

“Once the hair is washed, use a styling cream to create texture and add grip to towel-dried hair”

“Use the Shark FlexStyle with the Concentrator nozzle to blast the hair to fully dry, without any heat damage”

“Work a finishing balm into your hands and run through your hair once dry”

“Use the Shark FlexStyle Auto-Wrap Curler attachments to add loose curls to random sections of hair. The Coanda Technology wraps, curls and sets automatically, using air power to wrap hair around the barrel, so this is an excellent tool for quick & easy hairstyles as it creates hassle-free curls in seconds”

“Pile your hair on top of your head and secure with a bobble elastic before folding over in half and, once more, securing with the same band”

“Next, pull out some pieces of hair from the front to frame the face. Again, use the FlexStyle with Auto-Wrap Curler attachments to create loose waves to the front pieces”

“Use the same attachment to curl pieces from the folded ponytail for a tumbling effect”
