Ibiza has long been known as the ultimate party destination – and don't get me wrong, it absolutely lives up to the hype. But beyond the legendary clubs and sunrise DJ sets is a different side to the iconic Balearic island, one that's just as worthy of exploring. Whether you're a Pacha princess or looking for a more laid-back escape, there are countless idyllic spots where you can unwind and recharge to get that much-needed balance between relaxation and late-night dancing.

I recently returned to Ibiza for the first time in a decade. With a few more years (and a lot less energy) behind me, I knew my ideal itinerary would include just as much R&R as it did dancing until the early hours.

From the ultimate luxury hideaway hotel to sunset drinks with picture-perfect views and unforgettable dining spots, here's my guide to spending a weekend in Ibiza.

Where to stay:

Oku Ibiza

If you're looking for an idyllic place to stay away from the crowds, OKU Ibiza is hard to beat. Tucked away on the edge of Cala Gració, the effortlessly chic hotel has become one of the island's most coveted addresses, thanks to its minimalist design, calming neutral interiors and understated luxury.

After fuelling up at the exceptional breakfast buffet, spend your days next to one of its two sprawling pools - one family-friendly and one adults-only (where a DJ spins laid-back Balearic beats), squeeze in a workout at the sleek fitness studio or wander down to the crystal-clear waters of Cala Gració, just a few minutes away. It's the perfect balance between Ibiza's vibrant energy and its slower, wellness-focused side, making it the ideal base whether you're planning lazy beach days, sunset cocktails or dancing until dawn.

We stayed in one of the hotel's luxurious Superior Rooms overlooking the adults-only pool, and it was every bit as stylish as the rest of the property. Complete with a huge freestanding bath, double vanity sinks, a wardrobe bigger than the one I have at home, a Marshall speaker, and so many more little luxurious details, it was the sort of room you'd happily spend the entire afternoon in - even with Ibiza's beaches calling...

Rates at OKU Ibiza start from €470 (currently approx. £414) per night, based on two sharing a Superior Room on a B&B basis

Where to dine:

Teyo

Dinner at Teyo is an absolute must, even if you're not staying at Oku. Helmed by Executive Chef Mark Vaessen, the restaurant has quickly earned a reputation as one of Ibiza's hottest tables, serving innovative Japanese-inspired fusion cuisine in an effortlessly stylish setting. Expect beautifully presented sushi and sashimi, perfectly grilled seafood and meat, alongside inventive sharing plates that celebrate the freshest seasonal ingredients. The interiors are just as impressive as the menu, with warm earthy tones, natural textures and softly lit bronzed details creating a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere that's made for lingering over cocktails long after dessert.

What to order: The pork belly is the best one I have ever eaten. I'd also highly recommend the Japanese aubergine, the wagyu gyoza, the sea bass, and the wagyu fried rice.

Where to sip sunset cocktails:

Monkey

If you're heading to Ibiza this summer, Monkey Ibiza is one to have on your radar for a long lunch that turns into sunset drinks. Set on San Antonio Bay, the restaurant and pool club combines a laid-back boho-chic setting with views across the sea, making it particularly good for that golden-hour cocktail moment (and taking plenty of photos).

The drinks menu includes an impressive roster of creative cocktails designed to complement the Mediterranean menu and lively atmosphere. But if you're like me and prefer something classic, the Paloma here is exceptional. With two terraces, a sunset-facing setting and opening until 2am, why head over for lunch or some early evening cocktails, and see where the evening takes you...

Where to dine with a view:

Niko Al Fresco

If you're looking for a dinner spot with incredible views in Ibiza, Niko Al Fresco is one to add to your list. Sat on the Sun & Moon terrace overlooking Cala Llonga, the contemporary Japanese restaurant pairs a sophisticated setting with jaw-dropping sweeping views of the sea and surrounding mountains. Not to mention - the food is absolutely sensational...

What to order: the Wagyu Carpaccio, Spicy Salmon Maki Rolls, Spicy Edamame (beware, they have a real kick), Duck Noodles, Black Cod.

CLAP House Ibiza

For a sopisicated day with gorgeous surroundings, CLAP House Ibiza is one to have on your radar. The pool club has been given a fashion-forward makeover by Dolce & Gabbana for this season, with its signature leopard print featuring across the poolside interiors, while an exclusive pop-up offers a curated edit of clothing and accessories. When you're ready to take a break from the sun, there's sushi, sashimi, robata dishes and cocktails, plus a seriously impressive wellness offering complete with Reformer Pilates, yoga, HIIT, an ice bath, sauna and outdoor jacuzzi. Heading here is absolutely a day in Ibiza well spent.
