Ah, Paris - the last stop on the Fashion Month merry-go-round, with big hitters on the schedule including Dior, Louis Vuitton and Chanel under the helm of the brilliant Matthieu Blazy.
We've enjoyed a brilliant four weeks of shows - from elevated nightwear in London to people foregoing tops altogether in Milan.
I write this trend report to you from the Eurostar, as I make my way back to London, ready to embrace comfy shoes (my step count has reached giddy new heights) and elasticated waist bands for the foreseeable.
But, oh am I excited for the dawn of 2027 and the incredible trends that we have in store for the coming months.
The season was jam-packed with incredible moments - from the Chanel opening and closing looks featuring Coco Chanel's personal bag from 1955, to Anthony Vaccarello's rumoured last season at Saint Laurent seeing him send model after model strutting down the runway in top-to-toe gold.
Legend Olivia Colman walked the runway for Miu Miu while Adrian Brody was spotted soaking up the action on many a front row. So let's take a look at the 7 standout trends from the City of Light.
Paris Fashion Week SS27 Trend Report:
Curiosity Cabinet
The butterfly adornments spotted at Zimmermann certainly weren't of the sparkly Y2K variety, instead they embellished frothy lace dresses that oozed the energy of an eccentric Victorian collector. And oh, am I here for it. Meanwhile, Valentine's approach to jewellery bordered on hoarder territory, while Acne Studios' models sported brooches that bordered on surreal. AKA, we have full permission for SS27 to go a little wacky when it comes to our accessories.
Golden Girl
Tucked under the Eiffel tower, Anthony Vaccarello showcased his (widely rumoured) last season plus his 10th anniversary as Creative Director for Saint Laurent with top-to-toe gold looks as the iconic Parisian monument glittered above the runway. Trench coats, pencil skirts and slip tops were all given the Midas touch this season, with other labels such as Zimmerman and Georges Hobeika joining suit.
Colour Drenching
What I love about this trend - dressing head-to-toe in one shade - is that it's the perfect marriage between maximalist eccentricity and a minimalist's love for restraint and consistency. As spotted at Celine (another triumphant show for Michael Rider), Akris and Stella McCartney. The only question is - which hue is right for you?
Inventive Denim
Yeah, yeah, we all love a good old pair of jeans - but the runways of PFW SS27 showed us that we can be so more inventive when it comes to the humble fabric. From deconstructed layering spotted at Ujoh, to an incredible dress that looked almost black-tie appropriate at Zimmerman (bar the fabric of choice.) Denim lovers will be delighted, while those who have a more Marmite relationship with jeans have plenty to change their minds come spring.
Bruised Hues
Surely, the runaway star of SS27 - purple is having a real fashion moment, and Paris wholly followed suit. Chanel swung bags down the runway in delightful lilac shades, Longchamp showcased their upcoming collection - with many pale purple moments in the mix. For those at the headier, darker end of the spectrum - rich royal purple was also spied on crop tops and preppy shirts at Miu Miu.
Drive a Wedge
Good news for those of us who find tottering around on a skinny heel hazardous - satisfyingly thick and chunky wedges have had the Parisian stamp of approval for the season ahead. As spotted at Elie Saab, Vivienne Westwood and Chloé, while Victoria Beckham veered into slightly wobblier territory. Simply pick your poison.
The Lightness of Being
Heavy layers can be shunted to the back of your wardrobe come spring - for light, delicate layers were spotted all over the runways from Dior and Chanel to Aje. The perfect fare for wearing while frolicking - think long skirts that will trail behind you as run up the stairs in a dramatic fashion. For an utterly wearable take on the trend - Californian label L'Agence excitingly made their Parisian debut this season, showcasing a lighter-than-air trench coat that's absolutely brilliant if you adore what you're wearing underneath.
