Henry Cavill - Biography
Born: May 5, 1983
Famous for: setting pulses racing as the devilishly handsome Charles Brandon in The Tudors
Jersey-born Henry was dubbed the "most unlucky man in Hollywood" in 2005 after losing out on the role of Batman to Christian Bale, James Bond to Daniel Craig and Superman to Brandon Routh. He was always among the final two considered for the parts. The patient star is finally seeing his name in lights, however. After boarding at prestigious Stowe school in Buckingham, Henry kicked off his big screen career with a role in 2002's The Count Of Monte Cristo. This was followed with TV credits for The Inspector Lynley Mysteries and Goodbye Mr Chips. Small parts in films Tristan & Isolde and 2007's Stardust also helped boost his profile, but it was sexy drama series The Tudors, in which he starred as Henry VIII's virile best friend, which put his name firmly on the map.
