American comedienne Ruby was born in Illinois and majored in psychology in the States before moving to the UK to study music and drama. She initially worked as a straight actress with the Royal Shakespeare Company, though it wasn't long before her natural comic talents emerged. After appearing on British sitcom Girls On Top, she went on to find fame as an interviewer on shows such as The Full Wax and Ruby Wax Meets . Other TV credits include Absolutely Fabulous, Red Dwarf and Ant And Dec's Gameshow Marathon. A celebrity contestant on 2003's Comic Relief Does Fame Academy, Ruby charmed the British public with her vibrant personality, coming in as a runner up. Another notable highlight from her British TV career was a stint as show jumper in the BBC Sport Relief event Only Fools On Horses. She also provided the voice of Charleen Chinstubble in the animated 2008 film Agent Crush, alongside Ioan Gruffudd and Roger Moore. Ruby is married to TV producer and director Ed Bye and has three children - Max, Marina and Maddy.
