Multi-talented Norwegian princess Martha Louise is set to add another string to her creative bow. The 31-year-old royal, who has already earned herself something of a reputation with her readings of children’s stories and demonstrated a talent for traditional folk dances, is planning a foray into the world of pop. This new facet of Martha Louise’s musical abilities was kept closely under wraps until news of her album’s release date – November 15 – was made public. At the same time it was revealed that the royal artist will be following up the launch with a month-long tour of major Norwegian cities.

“The recording is already quite advanced,” says Ole Edvard Reitan, head of the record company KKV, which will be producing the disc. “The princess has been working extensively on her voice and the results are really very interesting.” Martha Louise’s album will reportedly alternate seasonal tunes with Christmas readings. Details on other artists featured on the disc and with whom the young royal will be appearing during her tour are still not forthcoming, although the princess has been spotted several times recently in the company of popular Norwegian singer Sigvart Dagslund.
