Kate Middletonwith a romantic candle-lit supper in a remote log-cabin in the Scottish countryside.
Obviously eager to show his love how much she means to him before beginning the next phase of military training, the thoughtful royal arranged for them to dine together at the isolated lodge on the banks of the River Dee.
According to local sources, Kate, who turns 27 on Friday, was delighted to find her prince had thought of all the ingredients to make the intimate meal truly special, including fine linen, silver cutlery and - an atmospheric esential - a real fire burning in the grate.
"It looked beautiful with just the candles to light it up and the sound of the river roaring outside," one source told the Daily Mail.
The preparations were carried out on the Prince's orders by staff at Birkhall – his father Charles' mansion on the Balmoral Estate - where the lovebirds are staying with the Prince of Wales and Camilla.
They slipped away by themselves for an evening in the cabin, which was once a favourite hideaway of William's great grandmother, the Queen Mother.
