Reunited William and Kate hit the slopes with her parents

After being reunited last week following Prince William's six week tour of duty in the Falklands, the Duchess of Cambridge and her husband have gone on a mini break to indulge in their favourite snowy passion.

The pair (pictured in 2007) have hit the slopes in the upmarket French ski destination of Meribel in the Trois Vallees ski resort, according to the Daily Mail.

And they're also getting the chance to spend some quality time with Kate's family – her parents Mike and Carole and brother James are there too. A fellow skier, who saw the group having lunch, said: "They were sitting all together in an Alpine restaurant half way up the mountain and looked very happy and relaxed."

Ski-ing has long been a favourite hobby of the sporty couple, who admit that when it comes to outdoor pursuits, they are fiercely competitive.

William feely admits that the snowy pursuit is one of the sports – along with tennis – that his wife beats him at.

The first indication that the pair were officially a couple was when they were photographed skiing together in Klosters in 2004, a few months after Kate split from her boyfriend Rupert Finch. The Duchess isn't the only keen skier in her family. Her siblings James and Pippa proved their skills recently, competing in the gruelling 56-mile Vasaloppet cross country ski marathon.
