Meghan Markle has hinted at an anniversary gift from Prince Harry as she debuted a stunning new ring – and it looked quite familiar.
The Duchess of Sussex, 44, was seen with a dark blue jewel on her finger in her latest video shared on Instagram for her As Ever lifestyle brand.
In the video, believed to be filmed in California, Meghan revealed a selection of homegrown fruit and vegetables in a wicker basket, before sipping on a cup of tea outside. She was also wearing a stunning new ring with deep jewelled tones.
Royal fans soon spotted the close "resemblance" to the Princess of Wales's engagement ring, a sapphire that once belonged to the late Princess Diana.
However, others put the similarities down to the "lighting" and the blurry nature of the video. Other differences included gold prongs around the edges and the fact that it was worn on her middle finger, instead of her ring finger. It's also unclear what kind of stone Meghan's ring is made from.
The ring was first shown briefly in a video on 11 May, eight days ahead of Meghan's wedding anniversary with Prince Harry on 19 May.
The Princess of Wales's engagement ring that belonged to Princess Diana
The Princess of Wales's £390,000 12-carat engagement ring is one of the most famous pieces of jewellery in the world.
The sapphire was previously owned by her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, who had picked out the ring from Garrard before her marriage to the now-King Charles III in 1981.
In Harry's memoir, Spare, released in 2023, he revealed that William had asked for the sapphire after their mother died in a car crash in France in 1997, adding that he had not objected.
Prince William popped the question to his future wife in 2012 on a private holiday to Kenya.
However, Kate doesn't always wear it in public as it's so valuable.
Sometimes she'll opt for her 'eternity' ring stack instead, consisting of her slim Welsh gold wedding band and a diamond eternity ring that's believed to be a gift from her husband.
Meghan Markle's engagement ring from Prince Harry
Meghan's own engagement ring, designed by her husband, features a central, cushion-cut diamond from Botswana and two smaller round-cut diamonds from the personal collection of Harry's late mother, Princess Diana. It's thought to be worth around £120,000.
When Harry first discussed his engagement to Meghan during a BBC interview, he revealed that he'd proposed during a quiet night in while she made a roast chicken in Nottingham Cottage.
Meghan said: "It's incredibly special to be able to have this, which sort of links where [Harry comes] from and Botswana, which is important to us, it's perfect."
