Prince Harry and Meghan Markle took their two children on a secret holiday to a private Scottish island during their latest visit to the UK.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently embarked on a trip to Britain, the Prince taking part in a number of engagements before joining his wife and children to visit King Charles at Highgrove.
According to the Daily Mail, the couple also took their children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lillibet, five, on holiday to a remote Scottish island owned by a hedge fund tycoon.
Island getaway
The family are believed to have stayed on Tanera Mor, which is the largest of the Summer Isles off the northwest coast of Scotland and located just 150 miles away from King Charles's private royal residence, Balmoral.
© Getty ImagesThe island, the only one of six Summer islands that is inhabited, was purchased by billionaire Ian Wace, 63, co-founder of hedge fund giant Marshall Wace, for £1.7 million in 2017. Also the largest of the six islands, Tanera Mor had a population of just five when he first purchased it nearly a decade ago. At the time, it was filled with cottages that were in various states of disrepair.
Now, thanks to a healthy £100 million investment from its owner, the island has been transformed. Over 100,000 trees were planted and a dozen of the derelict cottages renovated.
A blog written in 2021 praised the island's peaceful atmosphere and secluded location, which, at the time, had just six holiday cottages, a tiny post office, a cafe, and no cars. Tanera Mor is said to have inspired the 1973 horror film The Wicker Man.
© Alamy Stock PhotoJust last year, the small Scottish island hosted more than 1,000 guests from the Taigh Mor Foundation. The charity promotes mental fitness, advances health, and supports members and efficiency of the armed forces, and is firmly aligned with Harry's values, the Prince having spent much of his recent UK visit discussing mental health and bereavement.
For many years, Marshall has been friendly with Harry and his older brother, Prince William. His wife, former model Saffron Aldridge, 57, is also believed to have befriended Meghan when she moved to the UK.
A year after Harry and Meghan married, they were joined by their new friends for the Cirque du Soleil performance at the Royal Albert Hall.

The Duke recently travelled to the UK to mark the one-year countdown before the start of the Invictus Games in Birmingham. Joined by his wife, Meghan, and two children, the Prince also paid a rare visit to his father, King Charles and Queen Camilla.
It was the first time the King had seen his grandchildren face-to-face since they joined their parents at the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations, which were held in June 2022.
Harry has spoken openly about his desire to reunite with his family, most notably in a BBC interview in May last year, where he revealed that his father had cut off contact with him.
