The royal family follows an unwritten rule that no two heirs to the throne should travel on the same aircraft – a security measure to ensure that no single accident could put the future of the monarchy at risk. That means Prince William and his eldest son, Prince George, technically should not fly together.

In practice, exceptions have long been made because travelling separately with young children is so difficult, and the late Queen Elizabeth II routinely waived the rule for William and Catherine when their children were small. As George gets older, though, it's likely he may begin travelling separately from his parents.

Some feel the heirs rule is a sensible precaution that should apply as soon as George is old enough, while others think keeping the family together matters more. Should George start flying separately from his father? Vote below and tell us in the comments.
