Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, has landed a new TV role as a judge on Junior MasterChef Australia, which is returning after going off air in 2020 following three seasons. She will sit alongside MasterChef judge Poh Ling Yeow, who placed second in the show's first season in 2009, with filming likely to run for several weeks in Melbourne in the first half of 2027.
"I love cooking with my own kids, so seeing what these young stars create in the kitchen is going to be a lot of fun," Meghan said, adding that returning after her guest judging appearance was "an easy yes". She secretly filmed that guest spot on MasterChef Australia during her April visit with Prince Harry, and Poh later described her as "a model citizen" who "didn't scurry away into her green room".
No decision has yet been made about whether Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, will travel with her, although the length of the shoot makes it likely they will. The children only moved from Montecito to the UK with their parents in August and now go to school outside London. Some readers will see a few weeks in Melbourne as a once-in-a-lifetime adventure for the family, while others will feel the children need time to settle into their new life in Britain.
