Sarah Ferguson has been pictured in public for the first time in months.

The former Duchess of York, 67, joined her two daughters, Princess Beatrice, 38, and Princess Eugenie, 36, at a memorial service in Knightsbridge for her ex-boyfriend, motor-racing tycoon Paddy McNally, on Thursday.

Sarah, known by those close to her as Fergie, appeared in bright spirits as she arrived at St Paul's Church near Harrods in pictures published by the Daily Mail.

She was also accompanied by Beatrice's husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi; Eugenie's husband, Jack Brooksbank; and Peter Phillips, the son of Princess Anne.

It also proves she's , also wearing navy blue, with whom she was once so close that they referred to themselves as "the tripod".

Where has Sarah Ferguson been?

Sarah's last public appearance was at the Duchess of Kent's funeral at Westminster Cathedral in September 2025.

That October, she was forced to move out of Royal Lodge in Windsor, where she lived with her ex-husband, Andrew.

In December, she attended the christening of her granddaughter Athena, Princess Beatrice's baby girl, and was photographed in the back of a car.

She wasn't seen for months after that, but was reported to be spending time in Europe.

On 16 April, Sarah was photographed by The Sun at a £2,000-a-night resort near the Mayrlife Medical Health Resort in Altaussee, Austria.

She wore a blue coat and a white baseball cap before again vanishing from the public eye.

It is believed she had been spending her time out of the public eye at a Swiss Alpine chalet in Verbier, while some reports suggested she visited Portugal to meet Eugenie's baby daughter, Adelaide, who was born in August.

Sarah's relationship with Paddy McNally

In August, Princess Beatrice represented Sarah at Paddy's funeral at St James's Church in Sevenhampton, as Fergie continued to stay out of the public eye.

Sarah dated Paddy in the 1980s but broke up when he failed to propose, though they remained close friends afterwards. She even reportedly stayed at his ski chalet in Verbier in the months after leaving Royal Lodge.

The former Duchess once said: "Paddy was my father figure, 22 years older than me.

"He taught me so much about life. Whenever I wanted advice, I turned to him because he was so worldly wise. He seemed to have seen and done everything."

Where is Sarah Ferguson living now?

Sarah used to live with Andrew at his former home, Royal Lodge, but he was forced to vacate the premises and move to Marsh Farm on the King’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk, while his ex-wife has needed to find a new home.

In August, The Sun reported that Sarah was once again and was living in the Home Counties.

The newspaper described the property as "gated" with "six bedrooms".

It also has three bathrooms and a "granny annexe", according to the newspaper.

Sarah's fall from grace over Epstein

The former Duchess has faced calls to speak to US authorities about Epstein after last year's release of millions of documents associated with him shed new light on their relationship.

One email exchange suggested Sarah took her daughters to see Epstein in the US days after he was released from prison for child sex crimes.

Epstein has been the downfall of Andrew, who was stripped of his titles by the King because of "serious lapses of judgment" over his friendship with the late paedophile.

Six companies linked to the former Duchess started winding down in the wake of the publication of the Epstein files, according to Companies House documents.

Sarah's Trust, a charity she founded, also announced it would close "for the foreseeable future" and was shut down in July.

Sarah's loss of titles

Sarah lost her courtesy royal divorcee title and reverted to her maiden name, and also lost the freedom of the city of York in March after councillors voted unanimously to remove the honour over her links to Epstein.

The motion stated: "The council resolves that, pursuant to Section 249 of the Local Government Act 1972, the City of York Council withdraws the Honorary Freeman of the City status from Sarah Ferguson, which was conferred upon her in 1987."

She and Andrew were given the honour as a wedding present from York in 1987 during a visit to the city.

Councillors removed Andrew’s Freedom of the City of York in 2022, and the meeting at the time heard that he was the first person ever to have it taken away.
