Queen Camilla proved that even the royals aren't immune to an influx of frizz when she and King Charles were caught in a tropical downpour during their Caribbean tour.
Their Royal Highnesses were marking Antigua and Barbuda's 45th anniversary of independence, attending the nation's annual independence parade, when the tropical rain set in.
The King and Queen stood at the centre of the stadium in the pouring rain, with Queen Camilla barely able to conceal her giggles before she jumped ship, being escorted to shelter via an umbrella, leaving King Charles standing in the rain.
As his wife sought shelter, King Charles appeared bemused, miming holding an umbrella and raising his hand while looking toward the people around him as he waited patiently for a rain shield of his own.
A brief scramble unfolded in front of the assembled service personnel before an umbrella was eventually located and handed to His Majesty, allowing the ceremony to get underway.
A fit of giggles
Later, once they were both undercover, the Queen couldn't contain her mirth any longer, letting the laughs take hold as her shoulders shook at the hilarity of the situation.
Though her makeup remained as pristine as ever, Her Majesty's hair bore the brunt of the Caribbean storm, with her normally perfectly preened hair looking a little worse for wear, with a fluffy halo appearing as the wet weather wore on.
King Charles and Queen Camilla's Caribbean tour
The Antigua and Barbuda visit forms part of the royal autumn tour, which also includes the King's visits to the Bahamas and Guyana.
The couple's schedule brings together community engagements and the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, where Charles is attending as Head of the Commonwealth.
King Charles carried out the first two legs of the nine-day tour alone, with Queen Camilla joining for a shorter itinerary.
Speaking on HELLO!'s A Right Royal Podcast, Royal Editor Emily Nash explained Her Majesty's late arrival: "The Queen didn't arrive in the Caribbean until the weekend, and she's going to join him in Antigua and Barbuda. We know she's going to be 77 next year. She doesn't love long-haul travel.
"She, I think, finds being out in the heat all day quite draining, and it's tough for most people who are out working in the early 30 degrees all day long." We suspect the inclement weather has done little to enamour the trip to Her Majesty!
The royal couple will wrap up their time in the Caribbean on 4 November.
