Queen Camilla may have delayed her trip to the Caribbean, reportedly joining King Charles five days later amid her fear of flying, but she appears to have insisted that she travels with one particular snack.
Dressed in a turquoise Anna Valentine dress and her £2.2k Bottega Veneta top handle bag, the royal attended a church service in Saint John's, Antigua, marking the 45th anniversary of Independence and celebrating the Commonwealth.
She was spotted climbing out of the car, where she had stuffed a £4 supermarket sweet described as having a controversial "medicinal" taste into the door for on-the-go snacking.
The RJ's liquorice, which typically retails for £3.99, appears to be a favourite of Camilla and King Charles, who similarly let slip that he loves the same old-fashioned car snacks when he arrived for the first show of London Fashion Week in February.
King Charles and Queen Camilla's "bold" snack
BANT-registered nutritionist Charlotte Faure Green previously told HELLO! it has a "bold" flavour, and recommended the royals eat it in moderation.
Warning about the side effects, she added: "It contains glycyrrhizin, which can increase our stress hormone, cortisol, and when eaten regularly in large amounts may raise blood pressure and lower potassium.
"So for King Charles, it is best enjoyed as an occasional treat rather than something to reach for during stressful weeks," the nutrition expert concluded.
Queen Camilla's sweet tooth
The Queen previously confessed she was not a "natural baker" as she joked about her cooking abilities in an interview with You.
However, she does still enjoy dessert, provided it's more on the bitter than the sweet side.
During the interview with her son, Tom Parker Bowles, she said her "last supper" meal would be Dover sole and home-grown asparagus followed by "some bitter chocolate ice cream. Plus strawberries and raspberries and lots of clotted cream."
Camilla's packed schedule
Speaking on HELLO!'s A Right Royal Podcast, Royal Editor Emily Nash explained why the royal delayed her trip to the Caribbean.
"The Queen didn't arrive in the Caribbean until the weekend, and she's going to join him in Antigua and Barbuda. We know she's going to be 77 next year. She doesn't love long-haul travel," she said.
"She, I think, finds being out in the heat all day quite draining, and it's tough for most people who are out working in the early 30 degrees all day long. So, she's going to come later, but she will be at his side for the big events at CHOGM. She's got quite a few engagements of her own as well."
