Victoria Beckham has admitted she wishes she took the opportunity to see more of the world during her time with the Spice Girls. The fashion designer said she is trying to travel more and encourages her four children to do the same – although some of her favourite places to explore are closer to home in the UK.
"There are so many great things you can do in Britain. Museums, art galleries, the parks. You can go to the ballet," Victoria said in a new campaign for British Airways. "I feel most at home when I'm in London because I'm with David and the kids. London is a fantastic city. We march to the beat of our own drum."
Victoria Beckham said she encourages her children to travel
Despite being in the privileged position of travelling the world during her time in the Spice Girls, Victoria said they didn't see much more than hotels and their concert venues they were performing at. "That's the one thing that I wish I'd done more of when I was younger and I was with the Spice Girls. We travelled so much but I didn't get out. I didn't see enough," Victoria said. "So that's what I'm really trying to do more of as I get older and it's something I really like to encourage the kids to do as well."
The family have recently returned from a skiing holiday
It appears her efforts are paying off, with the family ringing in the New Year in the Maldives, and recently enjoying a winter getaway at a ski resort. However Victoria admitted her children are lucky to have the opportunity to explore so many places at such a young age. She said: "I really do encourage the children to travel. They're very, very fortunate. They know they're blessed, very lucky. They're in an incredible position so absolutely it's very, very important for the boys - and Harper - to see as much of the world as they can."
