Michelle Keegan is just days away from commencing training and filming for her role in the new series of BBC drama Our Girl, which will see her travel to Nepal, Malaysia and South Africa. Although Michelle will have a busy schedule while filming her role as Corporal Georgie Lane, she is sure to make the opportunity of any downtime during the trip, with husband Mark Wright already planning to visit her as often as he can.

The couple will have plenty of incredible places to explore during the trip; Malaysia and Nepal both have fascinating histories and cultural sights to see, from the breath-taking views of Mount Everest and the Himalayas to the modern cityscape of Kuala Lumpur.

Nepal is worlds away from Mark and Michelle's home in Essex, and has already captured the hearts of the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio and Prince Harry, who memorably extended his visit to the country in 2016. As well as taking a romantic flight over the Himalayas and Mount Everest, the couple could take a tour of Kathmandu, exploring monuments including Kathmandu Durbar Square and the sacred Pashupatinath Temple.

Alternatively they may wish to pay a visit to Chitwan National Park, a World Heritage Site that is home to huge wildlife populations of one-horned rhinos, leopards and wild elephants along with a majestic royal Bengal tiger and some 544 species of birds. Famed as being one of the best wildlife-viewing national parks in Asia, this is sure to be high on the couple's wish list for a once-in-a-lifetime Nepalese experience.

A truly diverse and spectacular country, Malaysia is home to both bustling and modern cities as well as beautiful beaches and exotic jungles. We're sure Mark and Michelle would fall for the charms of Kuala Lumpur, a frenetic and almost futuristic-looking city with impressive high rise buildings and even more impressive (and delicious) Malaysian cuisine. As a big fan of sushi and pan-Asian cuisine, we think Michelle will love Nobu's Kuala Lumpur restaurant, with incredible views across the city from its 56th floor location.

Should the couple wish to escape the city there are a number of other beautiful places to explore including the Cameron Highlands, home to a number of tea plantations, temples and hiking trails for a serene escape from the tourist hotspots.
