The Queen's favourite London hotel has been named as one of the best in the UK by TripAdvisor. The travel website has revealed the results of its Travellers' Choice Awards 2018, with The Goring – the only hotel to have been granted a royal warrant – coming in at number 11. The awards are decided by an algorithm that analysed the millions of reviews and comments collected in a single year from TripAdvisor users around the world.
However, despite having the royal seal of the approval, The Goring was beaten to the top spot by Hotel 41, another London hotel which overlooks the Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace. The five-star hotel offers 30 rooms and suites, which are available from £383 per night for an Executive King Room.

Another London hotel came in second; The Milestone Hotel and Residences – a luxurious fully serviced hotel residence that offers guests a home away from home in the heart of Kensington, just a stone's throw away from Kensington Palace. The residences are named after famous members of the royal family including William and Catherine, Prince of Wales and Victoria & Albert, so perhaps it makes guests feel like royalty, if only for a night.
Other hotels to make the top ten include Bishop's Gate Hotel in Derry, which was described as a "beautiful hotel with amazing cocktail list" by one visitor, and Hotel La Place in St Brelade, which has an amazing outdoor swimming pool and has been praised for its "excellent service and friendly staff". Rounding off the top five is The Beaumont, a Mayfair hotel which had 88 per cent 'Excellent' reviews from TripAdvisor travellers, and is currently available from £402 per night on the site.
