Temperatures will remain in the high twenties this weekend in London and we're loving the heat! There are loads of outdoor festivals and activities to keep you entertained, from a gin emporium to a theatrical extravaganza on Southbank. Read on for fun things to do in London this week...
Get green-fingered at Beautiful Allotment
A new East London hangout spot has opened in the stunning green grounds of Geffrye Museum. Say HELLO! to Beautiful Allotment - a serene oasis where you can chill, enjoy a cocktail or two and tuck into some darn good barbecue. The day beds and tables are mixed in with trailing plants and vegetable patches, creating a beautiful outdoor destination for the summer. Cocktails are made by Bourne & Hollingsworth, using ingredients grown on the grounds. All the more reason to get a round in!
Try a Love Potion at Puck's Gin Emporium
Shakespeare and gin go hand in hand, right? Okay, maybe not, but Puck's Gin Emporium has seamlessly merged the two with their unique pop-up that's inspired by A Midsummer Night's Dream. Housed in the Globe, the bar is bringing a fairytale-like setting of blossoming flowers and winding ivy, alongside gorgeous views of St Paul's and the Thames. As for the cocktails, they have an impressive list to choose from - but the Love Potion is obviously a must-order.
Indulge in brunch at Ham Yard Hotel
It's not a big deal or anything, okay - it's kind of a huge deal - but Dante is one of the world's best bars and it's taking over one of London's best rooftops this week. Coming all the way from New York, the bar team will showcase their award-winning cocktails at Ham Yard Hotel until 5 August, and if you visit on the weekend you can try their unique brunch offering that includes Grey Goose-spiked bloody Marys.
Take the family to the River Stage festival
Already run out of ways to keep the kids entertained? Take them on a family day out to River Stage on Southbank, a free festival that is running throughout July and August. This weekend, exciting performances by Sadler's Wells will be staged, which means hip hop, ballroom, traditional Indian kathak dance, contemporary and flamenco dance galore. London's finest street food and drink stalls will also be on hand to keep the family fed and watered.
Experience the Mindful Drinking Festival
If your liver is crying out for a break from the non-stop day-drinking and late evening sessions, head to the Mindful Drinking Festival this weekend at Spitalfields Market. Launching on Saturday, the festival will showcase a new wave of alcohol-free drinks hitting the market, including seven alcohol-free spirits, nine alcohol-free beers plus kombuchas, shrubs, elixirs and more. Fever-Tree will be hosting two masterclasses on the day educating consumers on their range and how well they complement the new alcohol-free spirits.
Impress your guests with afforable Magnums
Barbecues, alfresco dinners and long lunches - summer is the perfect season to host at home. If you're looking of new ways to impress your guests, check out the newly launched The Magnum Company, which sells limited edition and celebrity-loved Magnums at affordable prices. There's delicious Miraval from Brad Pitt's vineyard, not to mention a variety of wine, champagne, spirits and ciders on sale. Every bottle, starting from £22, can be ordered online and will be delivered to your doorstep the very next day!
