Things to do in London

London is home to nearly nine million people, so it's no surprise that every week there's something new and exciting to do. The capital never fails to keep us entertained, from seasonal pop-ups to restaurant openings to festivals outside of town. Spring and summer is one of the best times to be in the city, when locals and tourists live 24/7 outdoors – think rooftop cinemas, outdoor theatres and alfresco dining. But we also love wrapping up in winter and swanning around the Christmas markets, not to mention competing with other locals to get all our Christmas shopping done.

London's also great at pulling out all the stops when it comes to national and international events, like Chinese New Year, Wimbledon, Halloween and Bonfire Night. We do love our bank holidays and this year's long weekends in May will be extra special as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal wedding falls in between. Notting Hill Carnival in west London is always a winner over the August bank holiday.

Our weekly guide will bring you the best and most fun things to do in London every week, kicking off on Fridays to inspire you for the weekend. A new pop-up, a restaurant that's just opened or the latest blockbuster to hit screens – we've got you covered…
