Earlier this year, I stayed in one of the the Radisson Hotel Manchester City Centre's expansive suites for a mother-daughter weekend to watch Olivia Dean perform at the Co-op Live arena. It quickly became clear why this stylish hotel is rapidly becoming Manchester's go-to destination for music fans, eco-conscious travellers, and luxury seekers.
Close to Co-op Live and AO Arena
For anyone heading to a gig at Co-op Live or the AO Arena, the location of this hotel is an absolute game-changer. Situated just a short hop from Victoria Station and key Metrolink tram connections, it made navigating the city's bustling music incredibly smooth.
After a high-energy night, my daughter and I were able to return to the hotel seamlessly, and traded the electric atmosphere of the arena for a far calmer environment in the heart of the city.
Conscious luxury without compromise
The hotel's Net Zero credentials were impressive: it operates on 100% renewable energy with a strict zero-single-use-plastics policy, but yet it didn't compromise it's 4-star feel. We were fortunate enough to check into one of the hotel's signature One-Bedroom Net Zero Suites, and it certainly delivered on the wow-factor. The generous, open-plan layout featured a chic dedicated lounge area, a plush king-size bed, and plenty of space to stretch out and relax before and after the show.
By day, the dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows flooded the room with natural light and offered up panoramic views across the Manchester skyline. There were a multitude of features, from the ultra-soft hypo-allergenic bedding to the thoughtful, eco-luxury bath products.
We could unwind in style
The hotel offers fantastic facilities beyond the rooms, too. The serene wellness area, complete with an indoor heated pool, steam room, and sauna, provided plenty of pampering. Not to mention, their delicious low-carbon dining options at RBG Bar & Grill, which served us well for both breakfast and dinner. It was great that the restaurant was in house as the only issue we had was there wasn't anywhere within walking distance to grab a bite to eat.... although there was a Co-op underneath the hotel which made grabbing snacks and water for the room easy as pie.
In conclusion, whether you're planning a high-octane weekend of live music, a weekend break with family, or simply seeking a sustainable escape in Northern England's cultural capital, Radisson Hotel Manchester City Centre effortlessly strikes the perfect chord.
How to book it: Rooms cost from £99 per night including breakfast.
