Jennifer Lopez added a romantic twist to her sartorial agenda this week, as she stepped out for the Netflix Is A Joke Festival Presents: The Roast of Kevin Hart event on May 10. The singer opted for a striking sultry red number with matching accessories that were reminiscent of her Y2K heyday.
The 56-year-old wore a crimson halter dress by Michael Costello that featured a slinky bodycon silhouette with a scooped neckline. The skirt was adorned with ruched detailing and a tie accent, completed with a thigh-high center slit.
The sleeveless number was styled with a matching red quilted Chanel handbag, a pair of bronze-tinted aviator sunglasses, nude pointed-toe stilettos, and a pair of chunky gold bangles that oozed Y2K nostalgia.
Jennifer's caramel-hued locks were styled into a bombshell blowout while her makeup exuded soft glam, courtesy of a smoky eye, a bronzed complexion, and a nude-stained lip.
The star was joined by the likes of Tom Brady, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson,Tracee Ellis Ross, Regina Hall, Machine Gun Kelly, Venus and Serena Williams, and Teyana Taylor at the star-studded event.
The "On the Floor" singer has recently been embracing a return to her Noughties style archive – particularly with her jewelry. Jennifer was spotted wearing a gold nameplate necklace – a hallmark of Y2K nostalgia. She wore the jewelry both during her concert and while out in Beverly Hills in April. The necklace featured bold, gold lettering that spelled out "JENNIFER."
Jennifer Lopez's best red-hot looks
The hitmaker is no stranger to a little red dress. Back in 2014, Jennifer was the ultimate siren at Billboard Music Awards, dressed in a caped Donna Karan bodysuit that featured a mesh overlay to mimic the appearance of a skirt.
Jennifer's most iconic red gown arrived in 2011, when she graced the Met Gala in an elegant Gucci offering. The floor-length dress featured a tie neckline with a daring cutout on the bodice. The shoulders were adorned with crimson floral appliqués for a romantic touch.
And Jennifer hasn't reserved her affinity for red dresses solely for the red carpet, either. In 2022, she stepped out for dinner at Craig's in West Hollywood. For the evening, Jennifer wore a bright red figure-hugging wool mini-dress by Saint Laurent that featured a high neckline and long sleeves. The garment was styled with black knee-high Christian Louboutin boots and a black and white minaudière bag from Chanel’s Métiers d’Art 2018 collection.
