Rance Howard starred in '60s TV favourite Gentle Ben, alongside son Clint Howard,and in action comedy Grand Theft Auto (1977). Born in 1928, Rance got his start in 1956 on Frontier Woman, eventually working with son Ron in the early '60s on The Andy Griffith Show.
Later in his career, Rance guested on The X-Files, appeared in TheLone Ranger (2013) and Grey's Anatomy. The Primetime-Emmy nominated actor sadly passed in 2017.

Famous mother Jean Speegle Howard
Born in 1927, Jean Howard rose to fame with roles in over 30 TV shows, with a particular penchant for sitcoms like Married... with Children. She also appeared in episodes of Grace Under Fire and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Along with son Ron and husband Rance, she appeared in the 1956 feature film Frontier Woman with a small role as an unnamed villager. The acclaimed actress sadly passed in 2000 at the age of 73.

The filmmaker is still busy behind the scenes, executive producing podcast The Secret World of Roald Dahl and is credited as a producer on upcoming spoof sequel, Spaceballs: The New One.
He's also worked as an executive producer on sports documentary Earnhardt, ABC News Studios documentary Barbara Walters: Tell Me Everything and Netflix crime drama The Gringo Hunters.
