George Strait turned 74 on May 18, and during his successful decades-long career, he's always been a heartthrob.
The "King of Country Music" previously revealed what his secret to longevity is, and it stemmed from being inspired by the greats, as he shows no signs of slowing down.
He shared with Cowboys and Indians Magazine: "Staying focused and believing that what you're doing is good is important; you have to believe in yourself. I always felt like I knew what worked for me and what didn't. That might not be the key to longevity – but who can honestly even say what might be?"
The singer added: "I just always knew that I wanted a career like Merle Haggard or George Jones. I wanted to still be relevant when I got older. Those guys are still relevant and always will be in my book."
Besides his strong work ethic even in his 70s, George makes sure to exercise regularly, rides his horses daily, eats locally grown fruits and vegetables, and consumes lots of lean protein.
In 2020, George underwent a knee replacement surgery and remained optimistic ahead of his recovery post-operation.
He revealed on social media: "I know the road ahead won't be easy, but I'm staying positive. Healing comes through faith, family, and the music that has always kept me going. I'm taking it one day at a time, but I can't do it alone."

The performer shared his gratitude towards his close circle that consistently surrounds him, adding: "I'm blessed to have such a strong support system around me. My family, friends, and fans mean everything to me, and their love is what keeps me going every day."
The singer emphasized that his love for music has helped him through his darkest times in life.
George concluded: "Music has always been there for me, through every high and every low. It's the one constant in my life that always brings me peace."
While attending college at Southwest Texas State University, he became a member of a country band called Stoney Ridge, which he renamed Ace in the Hole Band.
In 1981, he released his debut single with MCA Records called "Unwound," and soon after, he put out his debut album called Strait Country.
He released his second album called Strait from the Heart, which was critically acclaimed and the rest was history.
