Mariska Hargitay has a lot on her plate for the next few months, balancing both her personal life with the screen AND the stage.

The actress, 62, is kickstarting a brand new chapter of her career on May 26, making her Broadway debut in the current revival of Every Brilliant Thing, taking over from Daniel Radcliffe, who earned a Tony nomination for his work.

And her limited run will continue until July 5, with Tracee Ellis Ross then taking over. However, the conclusion of six days of rehearsals and even more performances doesn't mean a break for Mariska, rather a leap into a whole other universe.

Following the end of her Broadway stint, the actress will jump straight into filming for the 28th season of Law & Order: SVU just a few weeks later, which means summer plans with her husband Peter Hermann and their three kids, August, Amaya and Andrew, might be a lot more low-key.

"The joke is, just when I think I should be winding down, I'm like, 'No, I'm good for a couple more years!'," Mariska quipped about her busy schedule in a new interview with People.

Her family is completely behind her major moves, though, with Peter, 58, lovingly adding: "Watching the person I love do something she loves is more beautiful than I can describe. Mariska is so deeply fulfilled by this play and this experience, and I'm every bit as fulfilled seeing her pour her extraordinary heart and soul into it."

Of course, going from the stage right to the TV set means that summer is likely going to be pretty short-lived for the Hermanns, at least when it comes to vacation time.

The Younger alum joked: "It looks like Mariska will have about a half hour of summer vacation between her final performance of Every Brilliant Thing and her first day back at SVU, so I think it'll be a nap, some snacks and off she goes. But wherever we do end up during her break, it's going to involve a lot of doing as little as possible."

The oldest of their three kids, 19-year-old August, is now a college student (his parents haven't revealed where or what he's studying), while younger siblings Amaya, 15, and Andrew, 14, are still at home, and the entire family unit is extremely close, even pictured visiting their mom on the Law & Order set sometimes.

Speaking of which, the highest paid and longest tenured actress in primetime TV is still going strong on the Dick Wolf-fronted franchise, recently telling The Hollywood Reporter: "It's been beautiful because there's been kind of a parallel growth with my character, Olivia Benson, and Mariska, and we had each other to go through this together.

"Becoming a leader, finding the equilibrium in that, becoming a mother on the show and having to manage my people, my squad, when we used to be even, and then all of a sudden you're the boss … And I think I am a different actor after [the documentary My Mom Jayne, her feature directorial debut]. That's just a fact."
