Demi Moore is synonymous with her luscious, long raven locks. The thought of her changing her roots to a bold new shade is quite hard to imagine – but she's done exactly that, embracing a full platinum-blonde moment.

The new color is courtesy of her role as Christie Smith in the new comedy I Love Boosters. The actress took to Instagram on May 29 to share a still image from the movie that captures her new hairstyle.

The photo showed Demi with a platinum-blonde bob styled into soft waves and parted down the middle. She's dressed in a black longline blazer paired with matching wide-leg tailored trousers and a crisp white shirt. Looking almost unrecognizable with her dramatic hair transformation, Demi completed the look with a pair of oversized glasses.

"Find out what the [expletive] is going on in Boots Riley’s head. @iloveboostersmovie is playing in theaters now," she penned in the caption.

Directed by Boots Riley, the film follows a group of shoplifters known collectively as the Velvet Gang. They resell the stolen clothes at discounted prices to make a profit. The Metro Designers fashion chain is run by designer Christie Smith.

This isn't the first time Demi has experimented with a shorter hair cut. She rocked a black bob at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of La Bola Negra. Demi's hair was styled into voluminous curls with a side parting. The elegant hairstyle paired perfectly with her strapless electric blue dress with oversized ruffling around the hips and a dramatic train, courtesy of Self Portrait.

For the cover interview of Glamour Magazine's 2025 Global Women of the Year issue, Demi opened up about the secret behind her hair. "I just started to let it grow. And it also kind of coincided with stepping back from work to be with my kids," admitted Demi.

"I think probably because I’m also lazy and I don’t like to sit in the chair or have to go and get it done a lot." Demi went on to explain that she never allowed her age to influence her decision to grow out her hair. "[We often hear] that as women get older, they shouldn’t have long hair. And for some reason, I didn’t buy it. I didn’t believe it, and it didn’t make sense to me why that had to be the case," she shared.

"I did notice, particularly women who were going through menopause, that they were…all were kind of cutting their hair in a very almost masculine way, just desexualizing themselves. And so I think there was a combination of this attachment to it, too. Sometimes I think I’ve just willed it."
