Sandra Bullock delighted fans with a rare glimpse into her private family life, sharing never-before-seen photos of her children alongside a surprising throwback from what she described as her "goth period".
The Oscar-winning actress, 61, took to Instagram to honour her late father, John Bullock, on Father's Day, posting a heartfelt tribute packed with treasured family memories spanning decades.
Among the standout images was a nostalgic photo of a young Sandra embracing her father at a red carpet event. Sporting a dark bob hairstyle, deep-toned makeup and a burgundy satin outfit, the Hollywood star looked worlds away from the glamorous image fans know today.
The actress poked fun at her former look in the caption, writing: "He loved me through my goth period."
The candid snapshot quickly became a fan favourite, offering a rare glimpse into a lesser-seen chapter of Sandra's life before she became one of Hollywood's biggest stars.
The post also included incredibly rare photographs of Sandra's children, Louis, 16, and Laila, 12, whom she has carefully shielded from public view since adopting them.
One touching image showed John gazing lovingly at one of his grandchildren as a baby while cradling them in his arms. Another captured a warm family cuddle between the proud grandfather and one of the children.
Sandra accompanied the photographs with a moving tribute to her father, who died in 2018 at the age of 93.
"He loved me through my goth period," she wrote.
"Loved on the loves of my life. And loved our country at a time when service was honored and not questioned."
The tribute offered a glimpse into the close bond Sandra shared with her father, who remained a guiding influence throughout her life and career.
John was a former Army employee and voice coach who helped shape the values and work ethic Sandra has often credited for her success.
While the actress rarely shares details about her home life, she has frequently spoken about how motherhood transformed her perspective. "I look at my life before my kids and I don't want to say it felt like a waste of time, it just felt like I was rushing to a destination that didn't exist. Now I'm here and I don't want to be anywhere else, " she told Good Morning America.
Sandra adopted son Louis in 2010 before welcoming daughter Laila into the family five years later. Since then, she has largely prioritised family life over the spotlight, taking extended breaks from acting to focus on raising her children.
