Collecting magazines was a right of passage in the '90s and you'd often find the likeness of the latest teen heartthrobs strewn across the floors of bedrooms across the country. For the celebs themselves, appearing on a magazine cover provided physical proof of their star status, cementing the biggest casting power of that year.

Drew Barrymore
Drew Barrymore was living every teens fantasy life twice over as she brought French Renaissance Cinderella to life in Ever After and graced the front of Seventeen magazine.
Now, Drew is the host of popular chat show The Drew Barrymore Show and has starred in several hit projects since the '90s, including Charlie's Angels and Netflix's Santa Clarita Diet and Blended.

Jennifer Love Hewitt
Jennifer Love Hewitt stole the show in horror franchise I Know What You Did Last Summer and I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, as well as teen comedies like Can't Hardly Wait.
She's still acting today, appearing on Ghost Whisperer between 2005-2010, followed by The Client List (2012-2013) and has been working on action series 9-1-1 since 2018.

Sarah Michelle Gellar became a legendary '90s actress, fighting off monsters in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and starring in beloved horror I Know What You Did Last Summer.

For Teen Magazine's Valentine Special, it was none other than Devon Sawa who was brought in to feature on the cover. From Casper to Wild America and horror comedy Idle Hands, Devon grew into a popular '90s teen crush that guaranteed sales – particularly for those kids desperate to get their hands on a fold out poster.
It seems Devon has found his home in the horror genre, recent credits including roles in the Chucky TV series, Consumed and dark comedy Heart Eyes.

Claire Danes
Is there any combination more '90s than Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio in Romeo + Juliet? We don't think so! With other castings including My So-Called Life, The Rainmaker and Little Women, Claire was a fixture of the decade and an obvious cover star.
From teen idol to more tortured roles, Claire is now a regular on thrilling dramas like The Beast in Me, Full Circle and The Essex Serpent.

Brandy Norwood, best known as Brandy, starred on Seventeen magazine's cover in April 1995. It's no wonder, given the singer's star status. Tracks like 'I Wanna Be Down', 'Baby' and 'Sittin' Up in My Room' guaranteed a space on the tape deck and in every teen's magazine collection.
She's also lent her talents to the screen in 1997's Cinderella and I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. More recently, she's appeared on Descendants: The Rise of Red (2024) and The Front Room (2024).
